Smoke detector wiring in Pena Blanca

Smoke detector wiring links every alarm on one circuit with an interconnect wire and battery backup. We place alarms in each bedroom, outside sleeping areas and on every level, and add carbon monoxide alarms where there are gas appliances or an attached garage.

Replacing old or chirping smoke alarms

Smoke alarms expire about ten years after manufacture. We swap old units for new ones, usually with sealed ten-year backup batteries, and fit adapter plugs or new connectors so everything interconnects.

Doorbell wiring and video doorbells in Pena Blanca

Doorbell wiring problems usually come down to a dead transformer or a broken wire. We repair wired doorbells, replace transformers and install video doorbells, which typically need a 16 to 24 volt transformer to work reliably.

Time to update alarms or doorbell wiring if

• The alarms are yellowed or over ten years old
• One alarm chirps even with a fresh battery
• Bedrooms have no smoke alarm
• There's a gas furnace but no CO alarm
• The doorbell hums, sticks or has gone silent

Electrical work in Pena Blanca and Sandoval County

Older neighborhoods in the Pena Blanca area still have two-prong outlets, cloth-insulated cable and, in homes from the late 1960s and early 1970s, aluminum branch wiring. Adobe and block walls make fishing new cable harder, so repairs here go best with an electrician who knows how these houses were put together.

Electric service in Sandoval County is typically provided by PNM or Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative, depending on your address. When a job involves the meter or the service wires, we coordinate the disconnect and reconnect with them. We provide smoke detector and doorbell wiring across Pena Blanca (ZIP code 87041) and in nearby Cochiti Pueblo, Santo Domingo Pueblo, Cochiti Lake, Algodones and Cerrillos.
